Grace Wilske, OTR/L
Program Manager of TeleRehab Enterprise Wide Initiative (TREWI) Minneapolis Hub
Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
Grace Wilske aspired to be an Occupational Therapist since she was 16 years old and received her OT degree from Boston University in 2003. She has worked in OT for over 15 years and with the VA for over 10 years. At the VA, she has had opportunities to focus in specialized areas within acute rehabilitation in Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputation Program, and more recently in Telerehabilitation. Involvement in telehealth clinics paved the way for Ms. Wilske to obtain a special role within the VA as a Clinical Video Telehealth Master Preceptor which included provider education, equipment/technology training, and development of telehealth clinics. In each of the rehab areas, she was clinically trained to complete in person OT home evaluations and developed the process to transition her clinical work through telerehabilitation. Grace has been conducting telehealth visits in Occupational Therapy for over two years, specializing in home evaluations. She uses her creativity and coordinator skills to design innovative processes to use telehealth in rehab practice! With the VA’s vision to expand Telehealth to Veterans funded by the Office of Rural Health, she has been implementing this program at the Minneapolis Hub.
