Ryan is the Chief Empathizer at The Nason Group where he helps teams keep the voice of the individual in the center of the work.
Ryan is a former design and art professor who celebrates individuals and collaborates with real people to prototype a more inclusive future for both the health care industry and underserved communities. With experience working inside hospital systems, grassroots organizations, and public health policy, Mulligan uses a proven method of prototyping on the ground with families, patients, and staff.
He is the creator of the Hero Design Company, which has co-created over 1,000 custom superhero capes for tiny heroes, and in a former life, he left his job to renovate health centers that serve families on Medicaid. Mulligan quit making art to express himself when he realized that his son Hobbs, who has severe Autism, might never be able to express his basic needs.
