Ms. Sarah Babcock is the Director of Healthy Environments for the New Orleans Health Department where she oversees the Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Health, Workforce Health, Health Communications and Bike/Pedestrian Safety. In this role, Ms. Babcock is public health emergency manager for the City of New Orleans and has lead the response to a number of public health emergencies including natural disasters, mass casualty incidents, and infectious disease outbreaks. She has operated a number of mass sheltering operations and developed the New Orleans Special Needs Registry in order to identify the City’s most vulnerable residents. Prior to her work in New Orleans, Ms. Babcock worked for the Florida Department of Health in disease control and health promotion. She received her BS in Biology from Elon University and her Masters in Public Health from Tulane University.
