Gina Perez, MD is the Associate Chief of the Behavioral Health Network and Telepsychiatry for UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. Within this role she provides oversight of the Behavioral Health services at UPMC Network hospitals, our community affiliates, and telepsychiatry. She is currently an attending psychiatrist a specialty psychiatric clinic for adults with intellectual disabilities and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Perez completed medical school and her residency training in psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She then joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine Faculty, where she provided clinical care, received multiple teaching awards, served as Director of Medical Student Education, then as an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Dr. Perez then joined Institute for Family Health, serving as Regional Medical Director for Psychiatry in an underserved region of New York, where she was key in the development of multiple models of integrated care. She has extensive experience with program development, telepsychiatry, community psychiatry, integrated care models, intellectual disabilities, and interdisciplinary medical teaching.
