Marcia M. Ward, PhD, is Professor of the Department of Health Management and Policy, in the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa. She is Director of the Center for Health Policy and Research, the primary research center for the Department. In addition, she is Director of the Rural Telehealth Research Center, a HRSA-funded telehealth-focused rural health research center. Her research focuses on health services research, rural health care delivery, rural hospital quality, and telehealth. Dr. Ward has been the PI of numerous grants funded by AHRQ, HRSA, NIH, the State of California, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Ohio State University and is an elected fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine. Prior to joining the University of Iowa in 1997, she co-led the Health Outcomes Program at SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute), where she served as the associate director of the Center for Health Sciences. Dr. Ward received the 2016 College of Public Health Faculty Research Award and was named the 2017 College of Public Health Distinguished Faculty Lecturer.
