Rahul Parikh is a practicing pediatrician and physician leader in the Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California Region. As Assistant Physician-in-Chief at the KP Walnut Creek medical center, Dr. Parikh oversees parts of medical center operations and has responsibilities that include performance improvement and physician / employee wellness. In addition, he is a senior physician leader in The Permanente Medical Group’s Technology Leadership, where he helps to oversee telemedicine efforts (Video visits, online questionnaires, remote monitoring), mhealth, and the TPMGs online presence (web and social media).
Dr. Parikh is also a published author, having written and co-authored articles in the medical and IT literature, including an article in the New England Journal of Medicine about Video visits in his health system and in the MIT Technology Review about the potential impact of AI on the physician-patient relationship. You will also find his articles about medicine, health IT, health policy and practicing medicine in the New York Times, Washington Post, Salon, Slate and other media outlets.
Dr. Parikh is a graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and trained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca.
